5th Avenue Bath Co. Press Releases and moreThis bar is enriched with shea butter; our soap formulation is gentle & moisturizing for sensitive skin. This bar of soap is fabulous! It smells so nice and cleans my skin without drying it out. It produces an incredible lather. The scent stays with me for awhile and my skin it moisturized though out the day. 5th Avenue Bath Co. Luxurious Lip Balm: My lip balm addiction is well-established; I keep one in my purse, one in my pocket, one under my pillow, seventy-five in the bathroom, etc. 5th Avenue Bath Co. makes scores of yummy bath and body products, but since I rarely bathe (take baths, that is! I do shower, thank you very much), their jojoba, beeswax, shea and cocoa butter balm is naturally the product I gravitate toward. With a faint cocoa-y flavor, it glides on like buttah and lasts for hours. I just had to post about the super bunch of product samples my new friend over at 5th Avenue Bath Co. sent me! I learned about 5th Avenue Bath Co. from Liz over at Wickedly Chic, and boy Im glad I did! Luxurious seems to be a common theme at 5th Avenue Bath Co. and they aren’t kidding. It was love at first “sniff” as I unscrewed the lid to the Black Vetiver Café Exfoliating Body Polish. I found myself opening and closing the lid numerous times just to take in a deep breath of it…all before I had a chance to try it. In the shower, the scoopable shea butter polish melted right into my skin creating a perfect moisture base for the scrubby turbinado sugar bits to work their magic. Afterwards, my skin was perfectly soft and smooth and I didn’t even need a moisturizer. If you love the aroma of a good cup of java, you must try Java Jolt Exfoliating Body Scrub ($19.99/16oz) in the morning from 5th AVENUE BATH CO. This super smelling blend of Columbian coffee and brown sugar works to slough off dead skin and to boost circulation, leaving skin feeling smooth. Use it, inhale it, and you just might find that you can get your fill of caffeine and can forego the beverage altogether. Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget A few weeks ago I was sent a cute sample bag of products from 5th Avenue Bath Company. I haven't even been able to give all of them a try yet, but here are the ones that I'm loving so far. The Facial Therapy Cream is available in "unscented" and "almond". Unless you are sensitive to fragrance in your facial moisturizers, I would highly recommend getting the almond scent. I quickly became addicted to this little bottle, and not just because it smells awesome. It's very hydrating, very lightweight, and the perfect size for travel. The only downside for me is that there is no SPF. So, as long as you make sure that your foundation/powder has some sun protection , you're golden. :-) A few weeks ago, I received an unusually large package filled with a ton of bath and body goodies created by 5th Avenue Bath Co. This review has taken me a little longer to get up than usual because I had so many new things to try! And, of course, you need to try things one at a time to get a true sense of how much you like something and how it works for you. I received a package with SEVEN samples. Seven different fantastic goodies to try! So, please accept my apologies for taking longer than usual to 5th Avenue and my readers. I think you'll find it worth it. In the future, if something is as generous with their samples as 5th Ave., I'll break it up into a few different features. The perfect set to help you relax and rejuvenate on the road. These 5th Avenue Bath Co. products are all safely tucked away in a small clear plastic tote bag, ready for you to take on the go. Includes peppermint foaming mineral body scrub, Eucalyptus, Orange, Rosemary, & Peppermint tootsie tune up, peppermint shea butter body moisturizer and Eucalyptus, Orange, Rosemary, & Peppermint luxurious foot/leg (hand and face, too) soap. $22.95 at 5thavenuebathco.com. Take a trip uptown (or downtown, as the case may be) to 5th Avenue, Bath Company that is! A great little nook of the internet bath world filled with pampering goodies. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a chai fanatic, so the Indian Spice Luxurious Body Cream fit me perfectly! It’s exotically sweet, spicy & luxurious. Luxury fits this cream perfectly, it’s so smooth and decadent. And for a little more smooth spiciness, try the Ginger Jojoba Exfoliating Body Scrub, it willl make your skin feel like new. I received this in peppermint so I immediately decided I would be using it on my feet. I adore peppermint foot products - they make my tootsies feel refreshed and cool. I was not disappointed in this cream! It's thick and oh so luscious and only takes a few seconds to absorb completely - none of this trying to vainly rub in lotion that refuses to go anywhere. What's the point of that?! The peppermint is just right. Some products I've used in the past have WAY too much mint in them and are just overpowering. Watering eyes are not desirable, thanks! There is enough peppermint in this product to leave your hands, feet, or any other body part left feeling cooled and refreshed. It's perfect. May 29, 2006
We were very anxious to try this product. What better way to wake up in the shower than with the aroma of fresh ground coffee right there with you! Our experience with scrubs has been less than satisfying. Most we've tried over the past few years have been incredibly oily and several caused major wipe-outs in the shower. Not our idea of a good time. So, with trepidation we opened the lid and leaned in for a peek. Pow! You're hit immediately with the heavenly aroma of coffee. It's really in your face - in a good way. Put it this way... you won't be sleepy after a whiff of this stuff. The scrub is drier than others we've tried in the past and this is definitely a Good Thing. Half-way through the shower, I felt as I though I was swimming in a giant pot of mocha. The heady fragrance of coffee was swirling about the entire enclosure and it left me anything but tired. (and craving a cup of mocha like you wouldn't believe!)
Wash your face…and stop touching it. Cleansing is a crucial step in any skin-care regimen, which means washing your face every day, regardless of skin type. Although toners feel fabulous—who doesn’t love instant tingly gratification?—cleansers are still the frontrunner for removing buildup and bacteria, which can lead to acne. Along the same lines, don’t even think about picking at your face; interfering with blemishes only makes them worse. Another mother- and expert-approved skin-care mantra: Don’t touch your face with your hands (and yes, this includes resting your chin on your hand) because the dirt you pick up during the day can transfer from your hands to your face. As president and founder of 5th Avenue Bath Co., and the mother of two young boys, Erika Lomonico advises washing your hands several times a day, and thoroughly, which also helps to ward off colds and flus.
Good news for winter-worn skin
In these chilly March climes, it’s essential for your skin to have a support system. I’ve just found mine. Pickerington, Ohio-based 5th Avenue Bath Co. offers an amazing array of lotions, scrubs, and sprays that will help you fake summer skin until the weather catches up with your sunny disposition. Having just returned from Southern California, where a cold day is still above sixty, I was especially drawn to 5th Avenue’s citrus-scented products, specifically their Grapefruit Moisturizing and Hydrating Body Spray, which not only smelled delicious but also really softened my skin. But perhaps my favorite treat was the Peppermint Tootsie Tune Up, which I followed by plying my feet with 5th Avenue’s Mint Twist Body Cream. My feet were in desperate need of TLC, and 5th Avenue Bath Co. supplied just what I needed. These products not only smell amazingly fresh, but also really rejuvenate your skin (as well as your mind and soul!). To order, stop by 5thAvenueBathCo.com.
