It relaxes them, and makes them feel confident that the spray is protecting them against monsters, animals, etc. Hey, whatever works, right? Another added bonus is that it smells heavenly. They did it, and it was a huge success; no more shark nightmares since we have been spraying our 'shark spray' before bed each night.
